Wow, the values are just so smooth, and the creases in the clothing are so realistic.
If I may critique one thing on this fantastic painting, it would be that the face is a bit flat looking... did it appear flat in the original?

And that is an interesting instrument, it's a viola de gamba. And looking at the bow this painting is probably from the Baroque era (Little fun fact you may or may not have wanted to know).

Thank you, the face does look less flat on the actual painting i think it is the fact i got the chin a bit bent out of place and the scanner doesn't seem to have captured the rendering on the face quite right. There are a couple of other glaring errors such as the instrument changing colour either side of the bow, thank you for mentioning the name it may make it easier to find the original painting since this is just a study.
